For the report, the term mark is 30% and the examination mark is 70%. However, the components of the term mark will be as follows:
UNASSESSED WORK
5% CLASS MARK
Your class mark is a combination of the following:
15% ASSESSMENT
Your assessment mark is a combination of the following:
- Workbook [WB]: it is advised that you complete ALL questions from the workbook. It is advisable to complete this during lesson time or in your self-study prior to the lesson. As answers are provided in the book, I will not be checking your work for assessment. However, should the need for a Pop Quiz to arise, I may select some questions for immediate assessment.
5% CLASS MARK
Your class mark is a combination of the following:
- Participation: notably participating in class (examples: volunteering for examples or doing well in games and activities) or online (Schoology) will contribute to the class mark.
- General Behaviour: Respectful and responsible behaviour is expected from every student. However, if you are caught or even suspected of unruly, disruptive or undesirable behaviour (especially wasting time or using e-devices for non-educational purposes), you will see a decrease in your class mark.
15% ASSESSMENT
Your assessment mark is a combination of the following:
- Textbook Questions [TB]: completing selected questions from the workbook on time will contribute to your assessment mark.
There may be at least one project (if time permits) which you will need to complete outside of school hours. - e-Learning [EL]: at times I may set extra e-Learning exercises which must be completed on time. Each correct question will contribute to your assessment mark.
- Pop quizzes [PQ]: on-the-spot quizzes may be assigned if the need arises. Questions may be sourced from the textbook or supplementary bank.
- Chapter quizzes [Q]: end-of chapter class quizzes contribute to your assessment mark.
- Lesson observations [LO]: I have invited a number of teachers to observe our lessons (they will randomly pick which class). Their feedback on my teaching and your learning will contribute to your assessment.
10% FORM TEST
Late homework without reasonable excuse will NOT be assessed.
- Your first Form Test will be on Monday, 14th November (Day 6) during Form Period.
Late homework without reasonable excuse will NOT be assessed.
