Fireside Chat with GaryVee & Pitch Like A Girl - Wednesday 12th July 2017
2 of 3 members of Team SPCS (one was on a study tour) met media guru Gary Vaynerchuk (CEO, VaynerMedia) at Mettā, a collaborative space for innovators and entrepreneurs. Gary had an assertive but honest way of encouraging us to realise (and monetise) our passion and dreams while holding on to two important life values: humbleness and gratefulness. We are thankful for Nicolette Tan and NextGen Women Network for inviting us to attend this inspiring talk!
We stayed on at this same location for the Pitch Like A Girl event where 10 female-founded businesses pitch their start-ups in front of 4 judges for a prize pool totaling USD60000. During the judge's deliberation, Team SPCS and Team T-Time (from Good Hope School) were given the opportunity to present their Technovation Challenge pitches to an encouraging and very boisterous crowd!

amazed Hackathon - Saturday 3rd June 2017
Team SPCS participated in a Hackathon organised by amazed. What made them stand out was that the other participants were university students and graduates! After the 4-hour accelerated programme, they emerged as joint Runner-Up, and awarded with prizes from Microsoft and Reuters.
In the Hackathon, they further developed the business plan of their ASAPhealth™ app. Joining their team was an MBA graduate who gave valuable insight and improved the business model. The team was offered sound advice from several mentors during the event.
We would like to thank Mr Daniel Shen (CEO of amazed) who personally gave our girls the invitation to attend and participate in this event. Mr Shen previously gave useful and practical tips on pitching a business idea when the girls prepared for their Technovation pitch event!

Students from the Form 3 cohort of the Enriched Information Technology Programme have teamed up as Team SPCS to participate in the Technovation Challenge which takes place from March to April in 2017.
